Details: John Delany per ship Tyne, free by servitude, charged with drunkenness. Constable Peter Riley states - I was ordered by Mr. Alexander McLeod last night to take Delany into custody and convey him to the watch house. Delany was very drunk. Alexander McLeod states - Last night Delany was at the house of Patrick Riley the publican. He was very drunk and riotous. On my ordering him to keep the peace he was extremely insolent to me. The prisoner admits the charge and expresses contrition. John Delany fined 5 shillings or two hours in the stocks - Fine paid
